The Defense Systems Sector, is seeking a talentedSystems Engineerto join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos-Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The Systems Engineer will work in a matrixed organization at Leidos-Dynetics, supporting multiple programs at once in a variety of engineering fields with all different team environments, from the large-scale programs that Leidos-Dynetics is the prime contractor for, like the Hypersonics Weapons Program and Enduring Shield Program, to smaller-scale programs for which Dynetics provides support as a subcontractor to companies in the top 100 DoD contractors. The candidate will join a diverse team of systems engineers within Leidos-Dynetics and have the opportunity to work on programs from their preferred background, as well as challenge themselves by working on programs outside of their expertise.A candidate with experience in other systems engineering areas such as General Systems Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Risk Management, and Reliability Analysis will be treated preferentially.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Systems Engineer will interface with program management, IPT leads, subcontractors, and government customers to support a program's systems engineering needs throughout its design life cycle, including requirements verification, requirements tracing activities, technical document development, SysML Model development, and maintaining configuration management. The selected candidate may present the systems engineering artifacts they have developed to the customer in formal design reviews and may serve as a customer liaison in many of their programs.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with less than 2 years of experience.
Experience in deriving requirements and verification methods/events for complex electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems.
Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will also have experience and/or working knowledge with:
Experience modeling in Cameo Systems Modeler (or equivalent) using SysML, and experience using Teamwork Cloud.
Experience leading technical document development such as Specifications, ICDs, Test plans, User Manuals, etc.
Requirements database tools
Experience supporting DoD, NASA, or DARPA program
Object Management Group (OMG) Certified System Modeler Professional (OCSMP) certification
INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) certification (ASEP or CSEP)

Pay Range:Pay Range $53,950.00 - $97,525.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
